Description

Shetland

4-6

The Shetland division aims to provide young players with a positive introduction to organized baseball/softball. Shetland is an instructional program for boys and girls to learn the basic fundamentals of baseball/softball including throwing, catching, fielding, and hitting. The season starts with players hitting from a batting tee followed by coach pitch at approximately mid-point of the season. Scores of games are not kept and there are no league standings.

Pinto

7-8

The purpose of the Pinto Baseball division is to continue instructing players at a higher level of organized baseball, with emphasis on the enjoyment and fun of the game. Managers and Coaches teach the fundamentals and basics of hitting, fielding, throwing, pitching, running, catching, and sportsmanship throughout the season. The format of the program uses a mixture of kid and coach pitch throughout the season. Although game scores are kept, and competition is encouraged, there are no team standings during the regular season. All teams participate and team standings are kept during the playoffs.

Mustang

9-10

The Mustang Division strives to provide players with a positive baseball experience with the introduction of competition. The AYLL Organization stresses that Managers and Coaches work with all players to enhance their baseball skills. Players have opportunities to play various positions on defense, and a continuous batting order is used on offense. Fundamentals of base stealing are introduced. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and the playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.

Bronco

11-12

The purpose of the Bronco program is to offer the more advanced player an environment to enhance their baseball skills by playing at a more competitive level; and to learn new baseball skills, with an emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and playing a style of the game close to full baseball rules. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.

Pony

13-14

The Pony Division is the next step in the advancement of skill sets and completion levels where the goals are to provide a more challenging opportunity for the experienced player. An emphasis on teamwork, good sportsmanship, and playing a style of the game close to full baseball rules. Game scores and team standings are kept during the regular season and playoffs. All teams participate in the playoffs.
