Wednesday, February 7 Timothy Osmond Park Opening Ceremony
TIM OSMOND PARK OPENING DAY CELEBRATION APRIL 19TH 1PM. JoAnn Osmond, State Representative of the 61st District and wife of former Township Supervisor and State Representative Tim Osmond, will be opening phase one of Osmond Park Sports Complex with a ribbon cutting ceremony. There will be an AYLL Baseball game at 2pm followed by a Girls Fast Pitch game at 3pm. AYLL players will be donating another $5000 to help phase 2 of the development get started.
Antioch Youth Little League, who has been an active organization in Antioch for over 50 years, made a $10,000 donation in 2007 to the Tim Osmond Sports Park. "Through fundraising efforts from our participants and good financial responsibility by our board, we are able to make this donation" states Antioch Youth Little League Vice President, Dan Schwabe who also played for Antioch Little League in the 1970's. "This is a big step in the relationship of our organization and the Antioch Parks and Recreation Department" comments Bruce Faber, Treasurer for Antioch Youth Little League.
The park is named after the late Tim Osmond, State Representative from Antioch. Through donations, funding from the Village of Antioch and Antioch Township and matching fund grants from the state, the first phase of the park should begin construction this summer, with the hopes of using the fields in 2008. In all there will be fields for Baseball, Softball, Football and Soccer with many other areas for families in the community to enjoy. "This park will be a benefit for the community of Antioch and provide much needed field space for our organization" adds Val Seyter, Antioch Youth Little League Sponsorship Coordinator.
"We appreciate this generous donation." said Steve Turner of the Antioch Township Park Committee

Please contact us if you would like to learn more about what these positions would entail. Click on the AYLL link on the left side of this homepage. Thank you.
