Looking for a GREAT way to reinforce all the skills that were learned this past baseball and softball season and get a head start for Spring, 2015 Season?
Fall Ball is your answer!
We are entering the FINAL WEEK of registration for the 2014 Fall Baseball and Softball Season! Registration will remain open through July 31st.
To register, go online to www.ayll.com and click on the "Register Now" button in the upper right hand corner of the web page or simply click on this short cut link (Register Now).
Fall Ball gives players a wonderful opportunity to master the fundamentals of the game while getting a jump on next season. Players are encouraged to register for the league in which they will be playing in Spring, 2015. For example, if a player just completed his second season in Mustang Baseball, then he would register for Bronco Baseball in Fall. Likewise, if a player just finished her second season in 10U softball, then she would register for 12U Softball in Fall. This gives our players a terrific advantage by playing in a relaxed setting under the new rules they will see next Spring! The emphasis of Fall Ball is on player development!
AYLL - Antioch Baseball and Softball will offer teams at the following levels (pending registration):
Shetland (5 - 6 boys and girls)
Pinto Baseball (7 - 8)
Mustang Baseball (9 - 10)
Bronco Baseball (11 - 12)
Pony Baseball (13 - 14)
Fall Ball practices will begin in early August with games beginning on August 30th and concluding mid-October. Fall Ball is a multi-community league. Home games will be played in Antioch with away games being hosted by surrounding communities. Games are on Saturday with occasional Sundays as the schedule dictates. Practices are at the discretion of the team's Manager, but typically are one or two per week.
AYLL - Antioch Baseball and Softball hopes that you will take advantage of the opportunity to play Fall Baseball and Softball - it truly is a great experience for all!
Thank you for your continued support!
AYLL BASEBALL & SOFTBALL 2015 TRAVEL TEAM TRYOUT INFO
I wanted to let you know that in Spring 2015, Antioch will be offering an additional 14U Travel Baseball team. This team plans to play its regular season through Mike’s Memorial. The season commences in April and will end in July. Besides the normal 16-24 game regular schedule, the plan is to enter between 3-5 tournaments in the Illinois and Wisconsin area. All total we are expecting to play in the range of 35 to 45 games during the entire baseball season.
The tryouts will be on the following days:
Saturday July 26th 4 pm – 6 pm at Tim Osmond Sports Complex in Antioch
Sunday July 27th 4 pm – 6 pm at Tim Osmond Sports Complex in Antioch
Thursday July 31st 6 pm – 8 pm at Tim Osmond Sports Complex in Antioch
Sunday August 3rd 4 pm – 6 pm at Tim Osmond Sports Complex in Antioch
There are two other dates that might be utilized depending upon try-outs, player conflicts and weather so please keep them open. They are Thursday August 7th from 6 pm – 8 pm at Time Osmond Sports Complex and Sunday August 10th from 4 pm – 6 pm.
The hope is that the team will play together for Fall Baseball but we will work around any other commitments and sports that the players are involved with.
The player cost is being finalized and will be due in two to three installments with the first due by August 31st. The cost is before fundraising, sponsorship or donations. The plan is to start fundraising immediately and use the funds to pay down each player’s fees based on the amount raised. I will plan to discuss the fee range and expectations with the parents at the first tryout as I feel it is best to start with a good solid dialogue. The boys will be with the other Coaches during that time.
If you have questions please feel free to contact me. I will be more than happy to set aside time to discuss this opportunity and what we are envisioning for this team.
Finally, if you know of anybody that might be interested in trying-out please feel free to pass along this communication to them with my contact information which is as follows:
Congratulations to our 12U Antioch Purple team who took 2nd place in the Nippersink League. This was a big accomplishment for the team given that there were 19 other teams competing from Lake and McHenry counties and the team included a majority of first year players.
Below is a link to an article that was published in the Lake County News-Sun highlighting this achievement.
AYLL - Antioch Baseball and Softball online registration for the 2014 Fall Baseball and Softball Season will open July 1st!!!
To get started, please click on the following link http://www.ayll.com and click on REGISTER NOW to secure your child’s spot on a team!
Unless you volunteer to be a Manager/Coach, no other forms will be required. Player registration will remain open for each Division through July 31, 2014, or until team rosters are full. Once rosters fill for a given division, we will begin a waitlist and will form additional team(s) based on registration.
We will once again be offering a multi-community Fall Baseball program. The emphasis of Fall Baseball is on player development. We will divide up teams evenly based on player experience. It’s a great opportunity to get a head start, as players will be placed on a team based on the Division they will be participating in during the 2015 Spring Baseball Season!
The following divisions will be offered in Fall Baseball:
Pinto Baseball: 7/8 years old
Mustang Baseball: 9/10 years old
Bronco Baseball: 11/12 years old
Pony Baseball: 13/14 years old
Again, you will register your child where they will play in the 2015 Spring Season.
Fall Baseball will run late August through mid-October with practices beginning in early August. Most games will be played on Saturday, with an occasional game on Sunday. Rainouts may be played on Sunday as well. Practices will be held throughout the week at the discretion of the team Manager.
We will again be exploring the opportunity to field Softball teams for the 2014 Fall Season; however, participation will be based on our ability to field teams in each Division.
I would like to invite all AYLL players from the 2014 season to join in walking in the 4th of July parade in Antioch. As many of you know this is our 60th season, and we are celebrating by having a float and asking players to walk with us. Please wear your uniform shirt and hat (No uniform pants are required).
